Alternative Valuation: Business Valuation, Plant and machinery Valuation and financial instrument valuation


Other than property, a transaction may also involve the sale of equity interest of a business enterprise or the assets owned by the enterprise. Payment could be in convertible bonds, options, shares, preference shares and cash. Setting up a profit guarantee will also be a way to safeguard your investment value.


With the one belt one road policy from the Chinese government, energy, infrastructure and transportation development has become vital to the successful of those countries in this area. This seminar will also have a special focus on the Energy and Infrastructure industry. Your might be interested to know how much those infrastructure company or projects should be worth and how to estimate the value of the plant and machinery in the industry.


This seminar will also cover the valuation for various types of business contracts such as BOT, EPC, PPP.   Various examples will be used to demonstrate for different industries such as power plant, marine works, ship building and chartering, waste treatment, oil and gas and mining etc. 



About the speaker:

Mr Mario Maninggo is a Senior Director of Valuation and Advisory Services, an industrial property valuer specialized in plant and machinery valuation. He is responsible for technical direction, review and quality assurance of all plant and machinery valuation projects.

Mario has been involved in all aspects of industrial valuations assignments for a variety of purposes including accounting, acquisitions and mergers, financing, initial public offerings, insurance, joint ventures, restructuring, rating appeals and taxation. Besides valuation, Mario also undertakes advisory services such as but not limited to fair rental studies, market research, useful life and remaining life estimates and technical reviews (equipment condition, operating efficiency and capability, and existing maintenance level review).

Mario is a chartered machinery and business asset valuer, real estate appraiser and licensed mechanical engineer with over 26 years’ experience in industrial valuation undertaking assignments in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific Region. He has a wide breadth of experience in valuation in different markets including Greater China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Central Africa and the United Kingdom.


Ms Jazz Chow is a Director of Valuation & Advisory Services, specialized in valuation of business enterprises, intellectual properties, intangible assets and wide range of financial instruments, for listed and private companies, for their IPO, merger and acquisition, financial reporting, management consulting and litigation purposes.

With more than 10 years of experience in the business valuation and advisory, Jazz has extensive valuation experience in various industries such as property development, hotel, oil and gas, software, hospitality, casino, publishing, metal and mining, food and beverage, electronics, telecommunication, automobile, Internet, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, entertainment, petro-chemical, ship building and environmental protection etc. Financial instrument valuation includes convertible bonds, financial guarantees, real options, preference shares, pre-IPO share options, OTC financial products such as swaps, interest rate derivative, equity-linked financial derivatives and employee pension plan.

Prior to joining CBRE, Jazz has worked in other valuation firms and reputable banks such as HSBC, Bank of China and Sumitomo Mitsui Bank as economist and Vice President in the research department.
