Alex Leung – 《All the Twists and Turns》 – Contemporary Art Exhibition

《All the Twists and Turns》 showcases Alex SH Leung’s signature painting style, “Liquefaction” that embodies a unique style incorporating flowing, liquid-like, interlocking lines along with an assortment of diverse patterns. Through rhythmic lines and shades, these artworks depict the delicate balance between societal rules and freedom. The precise lines symbolize the adherence to social norms, while the twisted shapes represent the desire of freedom of expression.

Alex has arranged his artworks in the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (vA!), which is housed in a Grade 1 historic building, originally called Cassels Block. vA! is a non-profit arts institution that is an open, multi-directional art space and focuses on art promoting, art learning, research and exchange. Alex aims to show the world in a different angle through his works to the general public. His imaginations connect with objects and surroundings, creating impactful and exciting contrasts while leaving viewer’s mind a space to reflect.

Alex is a contemporary artist from Hong Kong, who is known for creating “Liquefaction”. His works have been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in Auckland, London, Tokyo, etc. And he has been successfully holding multiple solo exhibitions at the Hong Kong Arts Centre and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre since 2017. His works were also on the shortlist of World Illustration Awards 2018, the finalist of Global Art Awards 2018 in two categories - Abstract Art and Painting and the finalist of Contemporary Art Awards 2019.
