The 75-hectare Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, now repositioned as Tseung Kwan O INNOPARK, is positioned to capture the exciting and lucrative opportunities of digitalisation and Industry 4.0—the latest industrial revolution powered by advanced technology.
Slated to open in summer 2022, the Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) in INNOPARK is the first pilot project to showcase how Hong Kong responds to the emerging trend in digital factory. Designed by Nikken Sekkei and Wong Tung & Partners, the building features prefabricated MEP systems and precast reinforced concrete construction. Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Common Data Environment (CDE) was extensive employed to detect clashes and control construction wastage and cost. 4D BIM scheduling and simulation application has helped validate works plans to avoid abortive works. 5D BIM has been used to facilitate interim payment valuation process. Digital Works Supervision System (DWSS), comprises of mobile apps, dashboard and real-time alerts supported inspection process in seamless and eco-friendly manner.
In this visit, we will get the first-hand insights from representatives of Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) on their business initiatives. It will be followed by a demonstration of integrated digital project delivery by Gammon, and tour of the AMC facility.
