About this event
In the spirit of wanting to connect communities, we will be co-hosting the Afro Asian Solidarity Event on the 15th of December here at Africa Center Hong Kong. The event will include a deep discussion on race relations in the United States and Hong Kong based on the movie "Blurring the Color Line" by Crystal Kwok. Director Crystal will lead this deep discussion and share the fine line the movie "Blurring the Color Line" touches. Panelists include Crystal Kwok, Jemima Joy Gbadago and Innocent Mutanga. The other highlights of the event will be a delicious Afro- Asian dinner curated by our chiefs and an African Drumming session to keep the spirits up!
"Blurring the Color Line" is the winner of the Mira Nair Award for Rising Female Filmmaker at the Harlem International Film Festival 2022. "Blurring the Color Line" has also screened as an Official Selection at Harlem International Film Festival 2022, CAAMFEST 2022, DTLA Film Festival, Charlotte Black Film Festival, Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival, Socially Relevant Film Festival New York, DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon, Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, and more.
