Description

For yogis who have tried aerial yoga before and feel comfortable going into inversions with little or no assistance. At least 5 aerial (hammocks or hoop) classes are required. Please note that this event is for intermediate/advanced yogis, not beginners. For beginners event please go to Sunday full day workshop.

Come and hike with us to Tai Long Wan, the most beautiful beach in Hong Kong to fly in the bamboo tripods over the ocean!

12.30pm meet in Sai Kung, in front of 7-11 near the green taxi stand

12.45pm taxi to Sai Wan pavilion followed by a short hike to the beach

2pm - arrive at the beach, tripod set up and a short rest and warm up flow

2.30 - 4pm - aerial yoga on bamboo tripods on the beach and over the water

Boat back to Sai Kung (every 30 min) or hike back to Sai Wan, mini bus/taxi to Sai Kung.

Notes:

- Please do not eat at least 3h before doing aerial yoga, have light breakfast

- To go back from Tai Long Wan, you can hike back or take a boat (100-150 HKD)

- Cost: 540 HKD

- Food and transportation costs are not included

Please note: there won't be much teaching during the class, teachers will show a couple of poses for inspiration but students are expected to have experience in aerial yoga and know basic poses. If you don't feel 100% confident it is better to join the Sunday beginners workshop where you will have a chance to learn and practice in the studio before going to the beach.

Is aerial yoga safe?

Yes. Guided by a trained teacher it is absolutely safe and fun.

Are the bamboos poles safe to do aerial yoga?

Yes. Bamboo is incredibly strong, stronger than steel or even concrete! It can hold up to 200 kg. There is a reason why bamboo is used for scaffolding all over Hong Kong.

What are the benefits of aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga is gentle way to get strong, relieve pain and heal the body. Hammocks support the body’s weight, enhance our range of motion and allow us to stretch deeper and work a greater range of back and core muscles. Aerial offers great therapeutic benefits. We use gravity to decompress the spine, realign the vertebrae, relieve disc and nerve pressure, which causes pain.

What should I bring?

Cash for transportation, water, sunscreen, yoga clothes, towel, swimwear, water, snacks etc.

What if the weather is bad?

We will most likely postpone the event to a different date. If the date doesn’t suit you, you can change it to any other upcoming workshop.
