Synopsis

The 1970s witnessed the take-off of the Hong Kong economy, and parallel with such economic development, a boom in property development. Fuelled by a rising demand for supporting professionals along with the opening of local tertiary education, design and the construction of local buildings had to be quickly localised.

Air conditioning systems, which are becoming an essential part of our daily life, have witnessed some fundamental changes along with advancemes in technology and legislation, and most importantly, the growing concern on energy efficiency, health and comfort level.

Michael will give an overview of the design considerations and some legislature changes related and affecting buildings in our region.
