Green and sustainable finance has become a core policy priority for Hong Kong’s financial services sector. Enabling the financial services sector to contribute to the fight against climate change will require innovative and ambitious approaches. Key climate finance themes have begun to emerge in the region’s efforts to green the financial system, these include Climate change risk, Climate finance taxonomies, Carbon markets and ESG reporting. Within each of these themes, there are two cross- cutting themes that are at the heart of the HKMA’s Cross Agency Steering Group (CASG) efforts: talent and data. This event will be an opportunity to connect developments in industry, policymaking and academia.
