WHAT IS THE "TRANSFORMING THE WORLD - 2030 SDGs GAME , VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE?

This game was inspired by the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and grew out of the in-person game that was developed in Japan in 2016.

From 2016-2019, the online game was delivered to more than 175,000 people across the planet. But with the 2020 pandemic, we had to reimagine the game as an online experience.

The online game is a very different experience to the in-person game, and takes 2-3 hours including contexting, playing, reflection and breaks.

WHAT EFFECT DOES THE GAME HAVE?

Participants often experience a change in perspective. Most players finish the game feeling excited, connected and ready to take action. Players often ask, “What can I do next to make a difference?”

While players do finish the game with an understanding of the goals, targets and the various ways the world can achieve these, the change in attitude and worldview can be the most significant effect.

WHERE HAS THE GAME COME FROM?

The game was made by Imacocollabo, a For-Purpose company that focuses on international collaboration.

Designed in Japan in 2016, this experience has become a powerful and impactful social phenomenon in Japan. Earning extensive media coverage and reaching over 175,000 participants globally.

2030 SDGs Game events take place in corporate, governmental, educational, and community settings. There are now over 800 trained facilitators within the community in Japan, and over 100 in other countries.

Now, due to a growing demand to bring the game to the rest of the world, Imacocollabo have translated the game into several languages.
