In the age of the Internet, anyone can easily share their creative work online. User-generated content flourishes online and even offline. Unfortunately, netizens could be caught by the law as the copyright law was yet to be updated accordingly. By licensing works under Creative Commons licences, the rights of the copyright owners and the users are made clear and the fears of sharing are reduced. Creative Commons licences are the de-facto, international standard for sharing content.
Creative Commons Hong Kong was launched ten years ago on the 25th October, 2008. The Hong Kong Creative Open Technology Association, the Culture and Media Education Foundation and the Faculty of Law of The University of Hong Kong will hold a 10th Anniversary Ceremony on 8th December to celebrate Creative Commons projects in Hong Kong during the decade. We are very grateful that the LikeCoin Foundation sponsored for this event.
