Within the realm of machine sight, collective trauma, private memories, and natural void are computed and reconstructed with absolute indifference—forcefully stripped of all semantics and emotion. Operating with cold, uncompromising neutrality, the machine flattens all historical contexts and individual experiences to absolute zero, condensing them into data structures suspended in empty space.  Point clouds possess the vast structure of real clouds, yet can never shed rain that carries warmth. The exhibition attempts to reveal the unbridgeable chasm between digital reconstruction and lived experience. Rather than advocating resistance to technology or blindly embracing digital omnipotence, the works point toward a third path—using machines with clarity, while confronting and understanding their limitations and indifference. Chan’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of image materiality and the archaeology of memory.
