【 陳靄欣作品《點雲不降雨》❒ :･ 開幕 ✕ 藝術家分享 】

❝ 當物理世界被拆解為無數個 X、Y、Z 座標與 RGB 色彩值的點，「點雲（Point Cloud）」，一種由百萬個微小光點構成、用以重構物體三維形貌的數位語言——它便成為機器視覺感知現實的終極媒介。在機器的視覺裡，集體創傷、私人記憶和自然虛無被一視同仁地運算與重構，一切語意與情感被強行剝離。機器以冷酷的絕對中立，將所有歷史脈絡與個體經驗歸零抹平，凝結成懸浮於虛空中的數據結構。

點雲具備雲的龐大結構，卻永遠無法降下帶有溫度的雨水。展覽試圖揭示數位重構與真實經歷之間無法填補的鴻溝。作品並非要鼓吹抗拒科技，亦非盲目擁抱數位萬能，而是指向第三條路徑——清醒地使用機器，正視與了解機器的局限與冷漠。唯有帶著這份覺察使用科技，才不至於在數位幻象中將真實拱手讓出。 ❞

陳靄欣畢業於澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學純藝術文學士課程，主修攝影。陳氏的創作實踐深植影像物質性探索和記憶考古。作品經常將古典工藝、當代媒介與日常現成物相互交雜，構築出具視覺噪點與觸覺質感的感官空間。

❝ When the physical world is deconstructed into countless points defined by X, Y, and Z coordinates alongside RGB color values—a "Point Cloud," a digital language composed of millions of tiny light points used to reconstruct 3D geometries—it becomes the ultimate medium through which machine vision perceives reality. Within the realm of machine sight, collective trauma, private memories, and natural void are computed and reconstructed with absolute indifference—forcefully stripped of all semantics and emotion. Operating with cold, uncompromising neutrality, the machine flattens all historical contexts and individual experiences to absolute zero, condensing them into data structures suspended in empty space. 

Point clouds possess the vast structure of real clouds, yet can never shed rain that carries warmth. The exhibition attempts to reveal the unbridgeable chasm between digital reconstruction and lived experience. Rather than advocating resistance to technology or blindly embracing digital omnipotence, the works point toward a third path—using machines with clarity, while confronting and understanding their limitations and indifference. Only by engaging with technology through this awareness can we avoid surrendering reality to digital illusions. ❞

Chan Oi Yan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, majoring in Photography. Chan’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of image materiality and the archaeology of memory. Her works frequently hybridize historical photographic processes, contemporary media, and everyday found objects, thereby constructing sensory spaces rich in visual texture and tactile nuance.
