🎙️ Speaker: Nicole Pun

Nicole Pun is an interdisciplinary artist, lecturer, and writer in Hong Kong. She received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a BSSc in Journalism and Communication from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is also a Yale-China Arts Fellow. Her photography is in the collection of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.

🎤 Overview

In today’s exploding social media culture, women are increasingly shaped into the same ideal. What are the reasons behind this phenomenon? Why is the female gaze so rarely discussed—even treated as something dangerous?

This talk brings together the work of "bad girl" photographers who challenge traditional notions of femininity. Through bold, unsettling images, they offer provocative ways of seeing desire, bodies, and intimacy in contemporary visual culture.

在社交媒體文化中，女性經常被塑造成面貌相似的理想形象。這種現象背後的成因是什麼？我們為何很少提及「女性凝視」（female gaze）——甚至視為危險目光？

本場講座將聚焦幾位「壞女孩」攝影師的作品。她們以大膽的影像挑戰傳統女性氣質，並以尖銳、挑釁的視角，重新觀看慾望、身體與親密關係。
