在都市人的日常生活中，植物似乎微不足道，並不起眼。其實，香港擁有豐富多樣性的原生植物，植被歷史源遠流長，每個植物群落都反映了大自然和人類活動的變化。你是否想過健康的植物群落應具備什麼特徵？外來入侵植物又對生態系統有什麼影響？

本次貫文空間邀請到嘉道理農場暨植物園（KFBG）以生動方式介紹香港幾種外來入侵植物，如馬纓丹、銀合歡、五爪金龍等，它們生長迅速，侵佔香港原生植物的棲息地，並改變了生態系統的平衡。相比起入侵植物的生長習性，KFBG 的植物專家將介紹多樣性超乎想像的原生植物如何在野外仍繼續茁壯生長；亦將介紹KFBG以恢復生態平衡為已任的森林復育計劃。如你同樣熱愛植物和大自然，切勿錯過此次講座及生態導賞。

In the daily lives of urban dwellers, plants often seem insignificant and unremarkable. However, Hong Kong has a rich native flora and the history of vegetation change here is long and varied, with each plant community reflecting both natural patterns and shifts in human activity. Have you ever considered what characteristics a healthy plant community should possess or what impact invasive alien plants have on native ecosystems?

For this interactive event, ecologists from Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) have been invited to introduce several invasive alien plants in Hong Kong, such as Lantana, White Popinac, and Cairo Morning Glory. These plants grow rapidly and occupy natural habitats , creating challenges for native plants and shifting the ecological balance of local ecosystemsly. To contrast the behaviour of exotic plants, the KFBG experts will then highlight how a surprising number of native plants continue to thrive in the village environment. 

Lastly, we will hear how KFBG is undertaking forest restoration projects aimed at recovering ecological balance in Hong Kong. If you share a love for plants and a passion for nature, don’t miss this talk and ecological guided tour.

關於嘉道理農場暨植物園 About KFBG

嘉道理農場暨植物園於川龍及附近的大帽山一帶進行植物調查，在貫文空間舉辦工作坊及講座等， 最終亦會製作小冊子以作記錄。項目目的為記錄川龍村民使用植物的口述歷史，結合嘉道理農場暨植物園植物保育部專家的知識，讓大眾以各種方式對川龍及大帽山的植物有更多認識及關注，亦可了解保育原生植物物種的重要性。

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden conducts plant surveys in Chuen Lung and the nearby Tai Mo Shan area, and organises workshops and lectures at Koon Man Space. The project will culminate in the creation of a booklet as a record.

The aim of the project is to document the oral history of Chuen Lung villagers' use of plants, combining this with the expertise of KFBG’s plant conservation specialists. This initiative seeks to enhance public understanding and awareness of the plants in Chuen Lung and Tai Mo Shan through various means, while also highlighting the importance of conserving native plant species.
