He is a folk singer, songwriter, oral storyteller, workshop facilitator, recording artist and author of several collections of folktales. As well as telling hauntingly beautiful traditional tales in his rich and authentic voice, he weaves charming old folk songs and original rhyming monologues into his inspiring and delightful shows. Description:This family fun morning event features Irish folklore singer Colin Urwin who will transport the audience to days when battles, shipwrecks, wolves, ghosts, faeries, shape-shifters and oral storytelling were all part of the everyday lives of native Glens folk. The stories are a mixture of original tales grounded in local legend, folklore and history, and traditional stories re-imagined. Audience members will be encouraged to partake in traditional Irish and Scottish music, song and story which are inspired by the people and places, the history and legends, and the sheer, rugged romance of the northeast coast of Ireland. For an hour, the Fringe will be awash in beautiful ballads, magical rhyming monologues and delicately woven tales of wonder.
