Sofie Jacobs from Urban Hatch

Sofie Jacobs, Founder and Head Midwife at Urban Hatch, has over 20 years experience working in Belgium, the UK and in Hong Kong since 2012.  

After gaining her degree in Midwifery in Belgium in 1998, Sofie has enjoyed the privilege of working with close to a thousand mothers, fathers and families, providing anxious, question-filled mothers with guidance and support.

Her experience ranges from antenatal clinics to postnatal visits, hospital to home births, Queen Mary in Hong Kong to St Mary’s Hospital in the UK (we had to ask...she just missed the birth of Prince William!) and hospital labour wards to high-risk units.  Sofie’s familiarity in a range of situations translates to her providing an intuitive type of support for everyone in her care.   

Sofie understands every person, couple and family has individual needs and lifestyle choices which is why she listens carefully, remaining both non-judgmental and adaptable. She has come to be known as the midwife who ‘knows how to teach, not preach’.

A practical thinker and emotionally perceptive ‘people person’, Sofie makes an ideal midwife during pregnancy, to birth, parenthood, and every step in between.
