About the CUHK CSR?

CUHK(The Chinese University of Hong Kong) MBA CSR Committee is a student-led initiative to raise awareness on corporate social responsibility and contribute to the development of CSR best practices in Asia. Since 2007, the CUHK MBA CSR Committee has been organizing the annual CUMBA CSR Conference for managers and CSR professionals. The initiative is fully self financed and cooperates with well established CSR organizations as well as strong corporate sponsorship partners.

CSR, today, is a popular and critical topic. Even during the financial turmoil, corporations today are seeing the importance of CSR in their strategic decisions and daily operations. As the world is rapidly changing, local and international corporations are working together to understand how to tackle today’s challenges, and CUHK MBA CSR Committee has created a platform to promote management practices that sustain resources, profits and growth.

Vision

We are an energetic and engaged team of MBA candidates that seek to make an impact today to achieve a sustainable tomorrow. We believe that corporate social responsibility is an integral part of business strategy that caters to both, the needs of our planet and the people living on it as well as the need for profits and growth. Our mission is to create awareness for corporate social responsibility, further develop sustainability in Asia, as well as educate future leaders on CSR. To do so, we provide a plattform for corporations and businesses in form of a annual conference and to organize events for the next genration of decision makers.

About the Conference 

The conference provides a platform for speakers, leading executives and professionals of various industries to network, share, and discuss best practices in CSR and inspire new thought leadership in order to help further develop CSR in Asia.  The 2014 conference will be held on May 28, 2014, at the Hong Kong Exhibition Center.  We aim to follow up our public recognition by Financial Times in 2012 for the 1st place ranking in Asia and 5th globally, for CSR initiatives by a territory business institution.  Since inception in 2007, the conference has attracted several Fortune 500 companies and more than 300 participants becoming one of the largest CSR events in Hong Kong.
